Man convicted in stabbing trial
Felon faces 15 years in prison
A Jacksonville man faces 15 years in prison after he was convicted of stabbing another man during an attempted robbery.
A jury convicted Keith Ladrelle Richardson on Wednesday of aggravated battery, a second degree felony.
According to court documents, Richardson, 27, was giving a man a ride to pick up a car for purchase. After the man fell asleep in the passenger seat, he woke up to Richardson stabbing him and trying to rob him of $4,000 he had for the car purchase.
The victim escaped and suffered several cuts to his face, hands, and neck, according to the police report.
Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
