A Keystone Heights man was convicted Friday afternoon of sexually abusing to young girls.

Leo Bettey Jr. was found guilty of four counts of sexual battery for abusing two girls ages 5 and 7 between 2010 and 2012.

Authorities were alerted to the abuse after one of the victims told her mother Bettey inappropriately touched her.

"This defendant faces spending the rest of his life in prison because of what he did to our two young victims," said Assistant State Attorney T.J. Bryant.. "With this conviction, the defendant will not be able to hurt another child."

Bettey will be sentenced March 21.
