A man died early Wednesday morning after being shot at an Arlington apartment complex.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrived to the Arlington Village Apartments at 840 Bert Road around 4 a.m. Wednesday. JSO detectives found the man shot in the parking lot.

Witnesses said several people were in the parking lot at the time of the shooting.

After the shooting, the victim was taken to Shands Medical Center, where he died.

On Friday, police identified the the victim as 34-year-old Edward Williams and said the investigation into his death is ongoing.
