Man drowned in LaQuinta Inn hot tub
Jacksonville police: Alcohol may be a factor in death
A man in his 20s drowned in the hot tub at a Southside hotel Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers found him faced down in the water at the LaQuinta Inn on Lenoir Avenue around 7:20 p.m.
Investigators said witnesses saw the man drinking earlier in the evening. Investigators said they believe alcohol contributed to the man's death. Investigators also said a friend left the victim at the pool shortly before he was found.
Police said the man was given CPR, but died on the way to a nearby hospital.
Police have not released his identity.
