JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A man in his 70s was found dead in a pool at his Southside home Tuesday afternoon, according to Jacksonville police.

Police said it appears the man, who was fully clothed, accidentally fell in. Officers responded about 2:15 p.m. to the home in the 3300 block of Dorothea Street.

"He did suffer from some medical issues and conditions that could have caused it," Sgt. Lonnie Mills said.

There are two homes on the property, and people in the other home went to check on the man when they found him in the pool, Mills said.

He said the man, whose identity was not immediately released, was in the pool for less than an hour when he was found.

Mills said there is no evidence of foul play.
