Man gets life for sexually abusing girlfriend's son

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -

A 51-year-old Putnam County man was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in a one-day trial Thursday for sexual battery on a child younger than 12, a capital felony.

Benito San Miguel was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

The 13-year-old boy testified that his mother's boyfriend sexually abused him for as long as he could remember and that the last incident was when he was 9 years old.

The abuse happened between January 2002 and October 2011.
