Man pleads no contest in death of transient

A St. Augustine man has pleaded no contest to charges of aggravated battery and manslaughter in the death of another man in January.

Prosecutors said Matthew Horn, 43, attacked 60-year-old Douglas Cracraft, of Jacksonville, kicking him in the head after Cracraft urinated in Horn's cot at a transient camp.

Police said they found Cracraft's body lying in a wooded area west of the railroad tracks behind 3551 N. Ponce De Leon Blvd. on the property of the Florida East Coast Railway.

Police said an autopsy determined the cause of death to be a homicide.

Police said both men were transients. They said Cracraft's body was found near a transient camp.
