Man sentenced for sexually abusing 11-year-old girl

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 40-year-old Jacksonville man was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison followed by a lifetime of sex offender probation for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.

A jury convicted Donnie Jones in October on a charge of lewd or lascivious molestation.

Jones was arrested in 2008 after a mother contacted police about her child being sexually abused.

Jones fondled the 11-year-old girl in 2006. The abuse was not discovered until 2008, when the child told her mother Jones inappropriately touched her.
