A 28-year-old Orange Park man was sentenced Thursday to seven years in prison and eight years of sex offender probation.
Ryan Scheurman pleaded guilty to charges of traveling to meet a minor to do unlawful acts, use of two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, soliciting a child via computer to engage in sexual conduct, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis.
Scheurman was arrested in April in connection with Operation "Don't Play in Clay." Over a five-day period, multiple law enforcement agencies from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the FBI and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement corresponded with men online who wanted to have sex with young girls.
While online, Scheurman set up a meeting for sex with a 14-year-old girl at a home in Fleming Island. When Scheurman arrived at the home, investigators were waiting for him. Police also found drugs on Scheurman when he was arrested.
A total of 20 men were arrested in the sting.
