St. Johns County Sheriff's Office deputies are trying to figure out why a man was found injured behind his home.

Deputies were called to the 500 block of Christopher Street shortly before midnight Saturday.

When they arrived, deputies found a 28-year-old man with serious injuries behind his home.

The man was unable to tell deputies how he was hurt. He was transported to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center in critical condition.
