JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police are looking for a man who threatened to kill a family during a carjacking on Friday afternoon.

Jacksonville police said it happened at a Raceway gas station on the city's northside about 4 p.m.

According to the police report, the man threatened three women, ages 74, 50, and 21, and an infant. Police said while the 21-year-old mother was filling up her tank, the man hopped into the driver's seat and held them at gunpoint.

Police said the gunman told the women, "Give me all your money and if you scream or do anything crazy I'll blow the baby's head off. I'll shoot everybody."

"It's awful. Something needs to be done about it," said LaDonna Johnson, who lives across the street.

After forcing the group to drive away, he made them pull over. The man took $40 and walked away from the car.

Channel 4 Crime Analyst Ken Jefferson said you always have to be alert.

"They're becoming more brazen now day. That's why you've got to always be aware of your surroundings. You've got to always watch who's approaching, standing around, hanging around, looking like they are suspicious," said Jefferson.

The gunman remains on the loose.
