A 51-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash in Putnam County on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers said Lessia James, of Middleburg was heading north on U.S. 17 approaching the intersection of State Road 207 at about 8 p.m.
Troopers said that James suffered from a medical condition and lost control of the motorcycle, then fell onto the left side and was dragged along the road until being thrown off.
Troopers said James was not wearing a helmet.
James was taken to Shands Medical Center in Gainesville in life-threatening condition.
