A 51-year-old Delray Beach man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 in St. Johns County on Thursday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers said Larry Middleton was riding south in the right lane at about 7 p.m. when his motorcycle slowed, went into the emergency lane and struck a call box pole at mile marker 319.
Troopers said Middleton lost control of the motorcycle, which landed on top of him on the grass shoulder.
Middleton was flown to Orange Park Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Troopers said they're investigating the crash. They said alcohol was not a factor.
