A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Friday morning when he failed to stop at a red light on Baymeadows Road and ran into the side of a pickup truck exiting Interstate 95.
The fatal wreck occurred just before 5 a.m. and blocked the intersection of Baymeadows and I-95 until nearly 8 a.m.
State troopers say Steven Jones, of Jacksonville, was riding east on Baymeadows when he struck a GMC pickup truck driven by Anthony Stachowski that had a green light as he turned left onto Baymeadows from the I-95 northbound exit.
Jones was transported to Orange Park Medical Center, where he died. Stachowski suffered minor injuries and was taken to Baptist Medical Center South.
