This - in the wake of 5 shootings there this month - one of them a fatality at the Fat Kat nightclub.Tim Pulliam is live in the neighborhood tonight - where a city councilman shared some ideas with the people who live there. 3 3 Neighbors say this club behind me has a history of shootings.Tonight a city council member Jim Love told the crowd the city will do something about this. 3 06-1145-4950-55Jim Love/City Councilmember 094952 We need to make some changes to make it safer.Tonight City Councilmember Jim Love made it clear to members of the Murray Hill Perseveration Association that the city will pass a law to stop deadly shootings at area night clubs - like the one recently inside Fat Kat nightclub.Love told the crowd through talking with leaders in other cities and law enforcement officers he'd like to see If Jacksonville can implement tighter security restrictions at nightclubs like: Councilman Jim Love suggestions -requiring security cameras at the exit and entrances -The use of metal detectors -and background checks on security guards Neighbors also offered suggestions for the city to consider like: Suggestions from Murray Hill community -More lighting -Putting JSO officers inside the clubs - And tighter code enforcement on loitering Rosemary Stout/Neighbor 094308 It takes everyone's support you can't be apathetic in things like this.Councilman Love 094844 This has got to stop.This is a black eye to our community.
