NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -

A Nassau County Sheriff's Office sergeant has been fired after his arrest in a domestic violence case.

Terrence Roberts was charged with domestic battery on his girlfriend after an incident at their home Saturday, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Roberts, who was a seven-year veteran of the department, worked in the jail.

He was charged with a similar offense several years ago in a previous incident with the same woman. Those charges were dropped.
