Neighbors Shocked By Teen's Killing

Friends Say Victim Was High School Student

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

An Arlington neighborhood is in shock after a a teenager was shot and killed late Friday night. Police have not identified the victim, but neighbors told Channel 4 he was a student at Terry Parker High School.

Police said they found a body in the front yard of a home in the 2000 block of Arlex Drive.

Officers said a group of people had gathered in a front yard on Friday and some type of altercation happened that lead to a shooting.

Alisha Roberson said the boy was a good kid, would stop to chat and had a smile "that would light up a room."

She and others are shocked that deadly violence has come to their street.

"If it happens three doors down, it could happen to you," Roberson said. "And that's what everyone is saying right now."

Police told Channel 4 they are questioning people about the shooting and continue to talk with witnesses.
