A 22-year-old New York man died Sunday morning as a result of his injuries from a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to a FHP, Michael Kriesel was driving south on I-95 approaching Philips Highway just after 5 a.m. when for an unknown reason his Honda Accord ran off the road into the grass striking, a concrete base for an overhead sign.
Kriesel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say they were still investigating and awaiting the result of blood-alcohol testing, which is standard practice after a vehicle death.
