Jacksonville's troubled head start program is about to undergo another major change. A Tampa based company called L-S-F is getting ready to take over the management. You may recall - Head Start had major problems last summer when the Urban League lost its government grant to run the pre-school program. Channel 4's Jim Piggott covered today's announcement. He joins us live on the Southside to tell us what this will mean to parents and their children. Jim. 3 3 Hopefully not LSF takes over tomorrow but they have a 60 day transition. 3 So as it stands 3 day transition. 3 So as it stands now head start remain the same. But this summer and next fall we could see some change LSF says they will try to remain at some of the current sites but it all depends on contracts. They hope to expand the head start program in fact they are also going to involve eight daycare providers here in Jacksonville.
