A north Florida teenager drowned while helping his cousins push a pontoon boat into Lake Weir.
Officials say 19-year-old Toddrick E. Erving suddenly dropped into the water at Gator Joe's restaurant in Ocklawaha near Ocala on Wednesday afternoon. His 29-year-old cousins Lendale Rowe and Samuel Gordon tried to pull him from the water but couldn't locate his body.
Emergency crews were called at 4:42 p.m. 911 call and divers found Erving's body around 7 p.m.
The incident took place near a drop off of the lake bottom where a 12-year-old boy drowned during spring break.
Marion County Sheriff's Office divers told the Ocala Star-Banner the body was found in water that was 8 to 10 feet, at the edge of a deep, dark hole.
