A woman from Orange Park is accused of identity theft and tax fraud and if convicted, she could spend 10 years in prison and pay a $250,000 fine, according to the Department of Justice.
According to court documents, Shatraya Watson, 25, along with others, filed income tax returns using stolen identities.
Watson and her cohorts would then collect federal tax refund checks sent to her house or through her bank account, the indictment said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathleen O'Malley will prosecute the case.
