A 21-year-old Orlando man is missing off the coast of Flagler Beach after being knocked over by a wave, according to police.

Flagler Beach Police Chief Dan Cody said two men were walking in from the ocean Friday morning near Fifth Street South when one got knocked down by a wave and vanished.

Cody said a full-scale search was scaled back, although rescue personnel on a jet ski continue to search for the missing swimmer.

A strong current is pushing swimmers to the south, but there have not been any other rip current rescues, Cody said.

No other details were immediately known.
