Egyptian man in life-threatening condition

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigators said a man shot a cellphone store owner twice before walking away from the store Monday night.

Sgt. Lonnie Mills said 45-year-old Samy Zahra was found shot inside the Cellular Plus of Jax store at 8712 Lem Turner Blvd. around 7:30 p.m.

Mills said a man wearing a white shirt and dark pants was seen headed north out of the parking lot and is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Zahra is from Egypt and was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He underwent emergency surgery.

A description of the shooter was not available, and police were not sure of the motive for the shooting.
