The son of the Palatka fire chief is in jail after he was charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12 years old.
Detectives with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit arrested Cody Lewis Lambert on Friday.
Investigators said the incident happened about two years ago when Lambert was 15 or 16 years old.
They said they began investigating after members of the victim's family came forward with information.
Lambert is currently being held without bond.
