Tonight - we're hearing from the parents of the man who fell from the stands at Everbank Field during the US Men's Soccer game over the weekend. QUEE-dee Joseph is in critical condition at UF Health in Jacksonville right now. Witnesses say he was standing on a chair and fell more than 40 feet. Channel 4's Hailey Winslow is joining us live from the southbank with what his parents are saying... Hailey? 3 3 Joseph's mom has been by her son's bedside at the hospital all day.His dad was on vacation down south, taking care of his sick elderly mother when he heard about the incident.He's trying to get back as quick as he can.The family moved here from Haiti and work at Publix Supermarkets in town.Everyone is hoping and praying he pulls through. 3 07-13CUIDY JOSEPH'S MOM CUIDY JOSEPH'S DADa big injury Cuidy Joseph is trying to pull through....The 24-year old soccer fanatic was watching USA take on Nigeria at Everbank Field...Witnesses say he ran up the stairs to the top of section 244 - on the southeast end of the stadium. His dad - wasn't there but explains what he heard happened next...A friend says he tried to stand on a chair - to catch the excitement on the field...when he fell.A witness looked over and saw the chair folded up and Joseph lying on his back on the concrete - on the second level concourse ...he fell 42-feet...Nearly the same height as a four story building.JSO investigators do not suspect foul play and don't believe Joseph was drinking at the time...Joseph is in the intensive care unit at UF Health...Joseph's dad says his son went to high school in Haiti and Florida Coastal School of Jacksonville for college...He plays soccer for the Beaches Adult Soccer League... 3 The company SMG manages the stadium on behalf of the city. It says Everbank Field is in compliance with safety requirements necessary in all NFL stadiums.After JSO finishes it's investigation, it would pass along any safety recommendations it sees fit.
