Lee County detectives are investigating the theft of 160 breeding pairs or rare parrots valued at more than $80,000.
Officials say Sandra Kortz checked on her birds Monday night, then awoke Tuesday to discover them missing.
Kortz says someone entered her yard by climbing a fence, then took the parrots from their cages.
About 350 birds were taken. Kortz has a license to own the birds through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
