A driver hit and killed a pedestrian crossing U.S. Highway 301 in Bradford County late Sunday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Shannen Sigman, 19, was driving south on U.S. 301 near Northeast 87th Street about 11:40 p.m. when the pedestrian walked into Sigman's path, according to the FHP report.
Witnesses said the driver had no time to avoid the pedestrian. The person was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrian's identity was not released, pending next of kin notification.
