Some people decided to lose their hair for a good cause on St. Patrick's Day.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation held a head-shaving fundraiser during a St. Patrick's Day street festival in Jacksonville on Saturday.
The foundation raises money to fund research into cures for childhood cancers. Some participants in this fundraiser raised $200, while others raised $2,000.
One participant said the cause was especially important to him because his daughter had been diagnosed with leukemia in December.
"It's a wonderful way to honor my little girl that's going through this battle and at the same time, raise some money to help and find a cure for this," said Scott Johnson.
Nationally, the St. Baldrick's Foundation has raised more than $18 million in 2012 alone.
