PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -

Two Marion County men have been arrested on multiple burglary charges, including recent burglaries in the South State Road 19 and Stokes Landing area of Palatka.

Putnam County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested John Thomas, 47, and Robert Walker, 19, in the string of burglaries.

Detectives said they received information from a concerned citizen who had read a news article about two men arrested in Marion County who had been linked to burglaries in north central Florida.

The vehicle investigators had been looking for was the same vehicle the suspects were driving during a car chase in Marion County at the time of their arrest, police said.

Detectives said Thomas and Walker committed at least three separate burglaries in Putnam County, and a total of 30 burglaries within the seven counties they had visited.

Both men were being held at the Marion County Jail with charges pending in multiple jurisdictions.
