Police in Jacksonville have identified a man and woman killed in a crash on the Southside in the early morning hours of New Year's Day.
Timothy Walsh, 51, and Pamala Mancillas, 48, died when a station wagon pulled in front of their SUV in the 13100 block of Atlantic Boulevard at Girvin Road just before 12:30 a.m., causing the SUV to roll several times.
Police said the station wagon was leaving a strip mall parking lot from the south and making a left turn to go west on Atlantic when the SUV heading east in the left lane of Atlantic at a high speed struck the car.
The SUV landed on the passenger side facing south after spinning and rolling. Mancillas, the driver of the SUV, and Walsh died at the scene. The two lived in the same home.
The driver of the station wagon was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with minor injuries.
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
