A man was shot in the finger after an altercation inside a Springfield home early Thursday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Investigators responded to the home on West 11th Street near Pearl Street around 4 a.m.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Police took a suspect into custody. Charges are pending.
