Investigators said 21-year-old Donace Issac left the scene of the crash on Ashland and Daniel streets early Thursday morning because he was scared.
They said he traveled six miles down the road before his car broke down.
Police said Issac called his mother and she talked him into returning to the scene.
Issac has been cited for careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
