Money Was To Benefit Little League Cheerleaders

According to the arrest report, Janelle Porter, 32, was arrested Sunday evening on charges of misdemeanor theft after a surveillance camera recorded her taking money from the cash register and placing it in her pocket.
Police said the camera was installed after cash was missing from that register after the last Jaguars? home game.
As she was being escorted from the concession stand by two detectives, she dropped a $50 and a $100 bill on the floor of the elevator, according to the report.
Detectives said that while she was being questioned, she had more bills -- including a marked $50 bill placed in the register -- folded in one of her hands.
Police said that Porter admitted to taking $200 from the register on Sunday and $300 from the register during the Jaguars game on Nov. 1.
The proceeds of the concession stand were to be donated to Little League cheerleaders.
At a hearing Monday morning, Porter pleaded no contest and was released from jail. She must pay court costs and possible restitution.
Porter had been employed by Duval County schools for six years. School officials told Channel 4's Karin Hirschey that Porter will be removed from having any contact with students while they conduct their own investigation into her actions.
