Two people are in custody after an officer-involved shooting at a Walmart parking lot in Bradenton.
The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported undercover detectives were attempting to arrest several suspects believed to be involved in an illegal narcotics transaction in the parking lot Thursday afternoon.
The newspaper reports one of the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle and struck an undercover officer and then an occupied parked car. The individual then allegedly sped toward an officer who fired his weapon twice.
A lieutenant with the police department says no one was struck by the bullets.
The suspect fled on foot and is still at large. Two others have been taken into custody.
No further details were immediately available.
