The Gainesville Police Department has ended the volunteer search for University of Florida student Christian Aguilar.
Aguilar has been missing since Sept. 20.
Authorities said they ended the volunteer search because they want to ensure a case with strong evidence against the accused murderer, Pedro Bravo.
"Anything that we find [during the search] at this point is going to be evidence in this case and is also going to directly correlate with the prosecution of Pedro Bravo" said Gainesville officer Ben Tobias.
Law enforcement will continue the looking for Aguilar, who is presumed dead. In the last two days, officers have searched more than 25 different locations in central Florida.
"We'll continue to search until tips are no longer coming through," said Tobias.
