President Obama will soon be in town and fans will pack the Prime Osborn and Downtown in hopes of getting a glimpse.
With all the people and cars lining the streets, traffic will definitely be an issue Thursday morning and some public transportation options will be detoured or shut down.
Due to the President's visit, the Skyway will be closed between Central and Convention Center stations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. Buses will be rerouted as well.
If someone is planning on parking in the convention center lot to ride the Skyway to work, they will still be able to access their parking space before 10 a.m. and use the Skyway.
Officials hope to have clearance to open the Skyway back up no later than 5 p.m.
Here is a list of bus detours:
F1, P3, P4, L8 and WS12 coming into town will turn right from Park Street onto Stonewall Street, left on Riverside Avenue, over the viaduct and right on Water Street. The route is reversed leaving town.
WS6 WS12 coming into town will turn right from Park Street onto Stonewall Street, left on Riverside Avenue, over the viaduct and right on Water Street then left on Pearl Street. Leaving town, it will turn left on Bay Street, left on Jefferson, to Riverside, then right on Stonewall and left on Park resuming the regular route.
WS2 will turn left on Forsyth from Lee, right on Jefferson, left on Water to the regular route. Leaving town it will travel Bay Street, right on Broad, left on Adams to I-10 west and the regular route.
