The judge in the Michael Dunn murder Trial says he hopes to have a jury seated by tomorrow afternoon. Today.. Dozens of potential jurors are being questioned by lawyers on both sides. The attorneys are choosing 12 jurors and 4 alternates to hear the evidence in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis 15 months ago. It started with an argument over loud music. Dunn claims he fired his gun in self defense. Channel 4's Vic Micolucci is covering the trial... He joins us live with more on the jury selection process. Vic. 3 3 00-0910-16 37:13 "to me it seemed to be going along pretty quickly.we have 62 or 63 potential jurors who have been screened for any kinds of reasons to be dismissed such as sick family members or job reqirements they can't accomodate." Channel 4 attorney Ed Birk says the process of selecting jurors is tedious...but it has been moving along efficiently. He says many potential jurors were excused because they had issues with being sequestered. Those who stand today are into the next round...as we wait for the final 12 jurors and 4 alternates.37:35 "Now they're quizzing, learning about backgrounds of the potential jurors, like have they been a victim of a crime or accused of a crime, or were they related to law enforcement. and other questions like that to find out if there might be any potential biases." There were a few hiccups today...this morning, the smoke alarm went off... prompting an evactuation. Luckily, it was just burnt toast and the all clear was given minutes later. The media got its first look inside the courtroom today around 2:30 in the afternoon, when the judge let 2 reporters in, and allowed a video feed showing his bench, prosecutors and the defense. 39:44 "he finally agreed that there could be 2 reporters in there this afternoon. no cameras or recording and observe as a pool and tomorrow there will be four reporters as well as family from the victims' and the defendant." vic live tag: Court still going on will resume tomorrow at.
