The Jacksonville Jaguars' second-round draft pick, Quentin Groves, agreed to a contract Thursday evening, Channel 4 reported.

The former Auburn University defensive end has agreed to sign a contract for a four-year deal worth about $3.5 million with a signing bonus of about $1.3 million.

Groves was the 52nd pick overall and only the second pass rusher taken in the 2008 NFL Draft.

"Groves, apparently through his agent, said he thought he deserved first-round money. His agent and the Jaguars finally came to some sort of agreement," said Channel 4 sports director Sam Kouvaris.

Groves' senior year at Auburn was slowed by three dislocated toes. His draft status was hindered by a heart condition, and his character was questioned because of a domestic dispute.

However, his ability to make plays was never in doubt, the main reason the Jags traded up to get the speedy defensive end in the second round.

Groves is expected to officially become a Jaguar on Friday.

That leaves one player, the team's first-round pick Derrick Harvey, yet to sign a contract.

Training camp for Jaguars will begin Saturday morning.
