Rueben Dachoute was a good friend to many .. the youth ministry he attended at First United Pentecostal Church of Jacksonville will hold a special gathering tonight so the members can comfort each other. Dachoute died yesterday shortly after he and a friend jumped into the river at a park in Arlington. Witnesses say the strong current pulled him under .. and he never re-surfaced. Channel 4's Tarik Minor is joining us LIVE from the church on the Westside ..where he's learned more about this young man. Tarik. 3 3 The pastor of this church says later tonight the teenagers will all come together to share stories about Rueben, and to grieve as one. Rueben was preparing to graduate from the Paxon School for Advanced Studies in a few months, they say there was something special and uplifting about Rueben, and he loved to sing. 3 00-1034-401'13-1'17PKG -This is how friends of Reuben Dachoute says they will remember him, as an intelligent 18 year old high school senior, who loved to turn anything into a song""I need some new shoes." His friends say the 18 year old was just joking around in this video, but at church he took things seriously. His pastor John Hopkins says Rueben was mature beyond his years.15:15:26"he just had this personality that was so uplifting and every time we had a service, if he wasn't ministering, he was praying and he wouldn't just pray for himself, he'd pray for others, he was a very selfless individual."Pastor John Hopkins says his church family is devastated, to learn the 18 year old was swept away by strong currents, and drown ed in the St.Johns River. Rueben played the guitar, the saxophone and also the drums.
