Douglas' cause of death was listed as multiple drug toxicity, or accidental drug overdose.
Fernandina Beach police said Douglas, a junior college transfer to Alabama, went to a house party that night after he was invited by two local women. Police said the women were the only ones of between 15 and 25 people there who knew him.
Police said that when the people at the house awoke the next morning, they found Douglas dead on the balcony of the two-story home.
Douglas, of Maryville, Tenn., was a former offensive lineman at Tennessee, then left the program after two coaching changes and went to a junior college in Arizona. Douglas signed with Alabama in November and played with the second team in the Crimson Tide's spring game.
