    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A day after a female corrections officer was beaten and raped while inside the Duval County Jail, new details were released that the victim was held against her will for an hour during the disturbing assault.

According to police, 26-year-old inmate Jonathan Tave beat and raped a 29-year veteran of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office inside the jail's law library Thursday morning.

Tave was arrested in 2005 and was awaiting trial on charges of murder, premeditated murder, arson, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and battery on detention officer.

Police on Friday released a report with graphic and disturbing details of what the corrections officer said happened to her in the jail library.

In the report, the victim said she was working in the fifth-floor law library, where she worked regularly to assist prisoners with legal research, when Tave attacked her.

The report states, "He grabbed her by the arm and put a handmade knife up against her throat. He threatened to cut her throat if she did not calm down and submit to his wishes. As she went to call for assistance on radio, he prevented her by pulling her away from it."

That's when, according to the police report, the victim said Tave pulled across the room into one of the library isles and raped her.

"The victim was then able to grab her OC spray (mace) to use it in her own defense. He grabbed it away from her and threw the canister on the floor. She then pulled her phone out of her pants that were laying on the floor and tried to call for help, but Tave snatched it away and broke it. Then, the suspect began hitting the victim on her face and body with his fists," the report states.

It states Tave then dressed the victim back up in her uniform and told her to relax before becoming angry again and telling her that he "had nothing to lose," and that he was going to "hurt her like the white people had hurt him," before raping the woman again.

The suspect demanded the victim's jail keys and tried to clean up the crime scene with paper towels before leaving the library, the report says.

The victim went to the control room, where she told the corrections officer on duty she had been raped by Tave and held against her will for one hour before he was done.

The corrections officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities said her injuries were serious, but not life-threatening.

Tave managed to get on an elevator and go to the Mezzanine floor, where he was apprehended and charged with 11 crimes related to the attack.

Tave was not in court on Friday to answer to any of the new charges against him. Tave's past records show that the inmate has had numerous problems while in the jail, including the alleged assault of other inmates, starting a small fire in the jail and assaulting a public defender.
