A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet has gone missing off the coast of Italy during a training mission, The Associated Press and Reuters reported.
The Pentagon told the AP that the search was launched after all contact was lost with the plane. However, there was no word from officials on whether the plane crashed.
The AP reported that according to “initial word,” the jet was not carrying weapons.
