Retrial Of Rasheem Dubose Begins
1 Of 3 Brothers Accused Of Killing Dreshawna Davis
The retrial of Rasheem Dubose began Monday morning in a Duval County courtroom. He is one of three brothers accused in the shooting death of 8-year-old Dreshawna Davis, who was killed while watching videos inside her grandmother's home in July 2006.
Prosecutors said Rasheem, Tajuan and Terrell Dubose shot into the home in an act of retaliation, targeting Dreshawna's uncle, who had robbed and humiliated one of the brothers earlier in the day.
The case against all three brothers went to trial last month, but Rasheem had a separate jury because he made statements to police after being arrested.

After a two-week trial, the jury reached a verdict against Tajuan and Terrell, but Judge Page Haddock sealed the verdict so the outcome of that case would not make it even more difficult to seat an impartial jury against Rasheem.
At midday Monday, lawyers from both sides began the process of interviewing the 70 people in the jury pool. Channel 4's Vickie Pierre said about 15 of those in the pool had said they had never heard of the case.
This story will be updated as there are developments in the process. News4Jax.com will stream live video of the trial, beginning with opening statements -- which could happen as early as Tuesday.
