The boy says he was brutalized yesterday on a school bus leaving Baldwin Middle-Senior High. The 12-year-old says one bully touched him inappropriately... then stuck his hands in the boy's mouth, as two other bullies held him down. Police are investigating but so far have not brought any charges. The boy and his mother spoke with Channel 4s Vic Micolucci who is joining us live from Duval County school district headquarters. Vic, how is the boy doing? 3 3 00-0648-5342:27 I didn't get any sleep. Every time I closed my eyes all I could see was what my son went through. This mother came to us concerned about what her 12-year-old son says happened to him yesterday...as he was riding the school bus home from Baldwin Middle-Senior High School. We're protecting her identity to keep her son safe. The 6th grader told her and then police that 3 high school boys pinned him down...one boy stuck his hand in his own pants...and then forced his hand into the 12-year-old's mouth. This mother says it was not only disgusting...it's traumatizing and humiliating.43:20 Vic-so the kids involved are much older and bigger than your son? Lady - yes, the boy that is accused of doing this is, he looks to be about 200 pounds where my son is maybe 90. It happened off school property so the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating. This police report shows the 3 boys involved have been identified ...but not arrested.41:46 I believe this is a warning to parents for all schools. She complains there is too much red tape in the way... 40:53 because it wasn't on school property, that it was a JSO problem. JSO tells me there's really nothing that they can do until they see the tapes. She's worried that it's taking too long for JSO to work with school district resource officers and the bus company.Detectives say there may be surveillance video...but they don't have it yetthis can happen again several times. Now she wants answers and action... Worried about her own son...and other children who may be in the same situation. 41:29 I'm very fortunate that my son has enough trusting me to come and talk to me and he talked about such a touchy subject.Several other kids may not. Baldwin Middle-Senior High School administrators said disciplinary actions have taken place based on the school's code of conduct, but no details were given because of privacy laws.A spokeswoman with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office also responded."We work with the Duval County School Board Police Department often and we work closely with them. As with all interdepartmental investigations, we are all doing what we are expected to do," said Officer Melissa Bujeda."The criminal JSO investigation of the battery is complete and suspended," Bujeda said. "The complainant was issued a Juvenile State Attorney's card and advised of the filing process. The next step is for her to follow the steps on that card if she wishes to pursue charges." What does the mother want to see as a punishment? Does she want the boys to go to jail?
