JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A Jacksonville man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for shooting at a man while arguing over a 12-pack of beer.

Octavian Nephilim was convicted in March on charges of attempted second-degree murder and shooting or throwing deadly missiles.

In April 2011, the then-48-year-old shot at Darius Allen while at the Speedway Food Store on Perry Street in Brentwood.

The beer dispute lasted all day. At one point, Nephilim left the store and after several hours came back and fired shots at Allen, who was standing in front of the store.

With the 25-year sentence, Nephilim must serve a minimum mandatory of 20 years in prison. He was on probation at the time of the shooting for carrying a concealed firearm and DUI convictions.
