The driver of a tractor-trailer hauling a load of logs told the Florida Highway Patrol he was trying to clean the inside of this windshield early Wednesday morning when he lost control of the rig, which overturned and spilled its load on U.S. Highway 301.
The highway was completely blocked for two hours after the 3:50 a.m. accident. Troopers said the right lanes remained closed until after 9 a.m. while the logs and big rig could be cleared.
The driver, 49-year-old Donald Cooper, of Hampton, received only a minor injury in the accident and was cited for careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.
