ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -

Several people were caught trying to destroy evidence of a possible meth lab on Monday evening, St. Johns County deputies said.

When deputies arrived at a home in the 200 block of Estrada Avenue in St. Augustine, a woman who said she was the homeowner refused to allow them inside.

Investigators said as they found equipment for a meth lab in a pickup truck on the property. As they took the evidence, deputies saw several people inside the home removing equipment that appeared to be for a meth lab.

Inside the home, deputies found evidence of a meth lab that appeared to be defunct.

Charges are pending the investigation.
