Secretary of State Ken Detzner and the League of Women Voters of Florida are putting aside past differences to join forces in a media campaign.
It's aimed at encouraging Floridians to register, vote early if possible and do their homework before casting ballots.
They announced plans Tuesday to distribute video public service announcements to broadcast and cable outlets across the state.
The Florida Cable Telecommunications Association and Florida Association of Broadcasters also are cooperating in the effort.
Detzer had defended new restrictions on voter registration drives that the league challenged in a federal lawsuit. They eventually settled after a judge blocked some of the most onerous portions of the new law.
The campaign began only two weeks before the registration deadline, but Detzner insisted it isn't starting too late.
