Authorities say a suspect was killed and a deputy was injured during a Tampa Bay area drug sting.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that an undercover deputy was buying crack cocaine at a Tampa apartment complex Wednesday evening when the dealer tried to rob the deputy.
The two men started to fight, and the deputy lost his handgun. Backup deputies rushed in to help and fatally shot the suspect.
The undercover deputy was injured, but the sheriff's office didn't immediately provide details.
Officials didn't name the deputies involved or the dead suspect.
