Taxi driver shot during robbery attempt

A taxicab driver who was shot during a robbery attempt is in stable condition at a Tampa hospital.

Tampa police say 42-year-old Annuel Delicieux was shot early Tuesday morning after dropping off a passenger. The suspect was standing next to the taxi with a shotgun in his hands when he pointed the shotgun at Delicieux and demanded money.

Police say Delicieux tossed money out of the window before the suspect shot him in the chest.

A passenger in the back seat tried to get out during the robbery. He was not injured. Police say he's not a suspect.
